Power in the grey...that's what I say....
Ya whatever...have you noticed??
The only ones who will comment on the greyness of the hair of one is another grey-haired person...(not to be sexist...but this is usually a women type of thing..)
I remember back when I saw a former co-worker at Canadian Tire. I noticed that she had decided to let her grey grow out but I didn't say anything about it. Why? Because I was still enslaved to Clairol Preference #56. I really wanted to say "good for you...you're refusing to go with the colour flow..." or something along those lines. Instead, I said nothing and then kicked myself later because I knew it would have probably been a good idea to let her know that I was with her in spirit if not in colour (yet).
But here I am. Grey. And I just can't help but notice that it is grey-haired women who will comment on my lack of rootness. Yesterday at Starbucks I saw an "old" friend who actually played a part (unknowingly) in encouraging me to stop colouring. She said "well hello you grey haired beauty". Do you think I would have received a comment like that from a redhead, blonde, or raven-haired person. Absolutely not.
So here's to you gracefully greying women!!!! Not only are we saving a bundle on hair colour; we're relaxed because we know that there are no roots showing their nasty selves......woooooooo!!!!!!
