I'd like to think it's because I'm busy but the truth is I haven't been very motivated lately. The weather has been pretty lousy but I can't really complain because of the nice stuff we had in February and most of March - well at least until the Olympics ended...then it got back to its old nasty self...
I'm just lazy I think. I have moments of inspiration but then my notebook and pen are on the other side of the room and I don't feel like getting up to fetch them. I've been reading a lot and while I'm reading I think "I could have written this.." but I don't.
You see the difference between a writer and a non-writer? A writer actually writes instead of just thinking about writing. A non-writer just thinks about it but never actually does it. That's why when a non-writer dies (not wanting to be too morbid...or anything..) no one ever really thinks about their writing because they never did it. They just thought about doing it.
Now - when a writer dies....well then you can read all the stuff they wrote and remember them fondly as a writer. This thought alone should motivate me but at the moment it isn't working. I'm going to start dinner and then I'm going out to where the trailer is waiting to be camped in....

I think a writer is a writer whether the writer thinks about being a writer or not. A writer also makes sure to not use the same words, such as "writer", for example, over and over. This is not the writer way. Just a thought or two, from one writer who thinks about writing to another.
