A Walk in the (dog) Park

It's Saturday. Nothin goin on. I can hear my husband watching a movie downstairs. It's an old movie. I've already seen it because I watched it while he was asleep. Then he woke up and rewound so he could watch what he missed (which was pretty much the whole thing), so I retreated up here to create my blog. That's pretty much as exciting as it gets around here...Oh wait...no it's not. Today we went for a walk down to the river. There's a nice dog park down there and it's always fun to throw a stick into the water and watch our little dog run in to retrieve it. It was raining and quite muddy down there so you can imagine the messiness that followed. One wet and mud-covered dog on a grey rainy day. The hint of wet dog permeating the air in the car....ahhh... One funny thing about dog parks is you always find out the names of the dogs but you never know the humans' names. This makes me laugh. Another funny thing is that everyone talks about their dog buddies as if they were humans. A non-dog-lover would go nuts if they could hear the talk that goes on there. "oh yes -Fluffo naps 8 hours a day on my pillow and he just has to have his little chew toy rolled in peanut butter before he eats his breakfast of scrambled eggs and feta each morning and he always comes running if I rustle a bag and he only eats popcorn that has enough butter and salt otherwise he spits it on the floor and glares at me and he can't sleep without his striped jammies with the feet...and he watches "Lassie" reruns every Saturday morning and can actually go and find a ladder for me whenever I ask him to...." Does this sound extremely boring? Well obviously you don't have a dog now, do you?? HaHa!!

I'm actually happy to be sitting here watching the words appear on my screen. I don't know how long it will be until I go blind and I won't be able to see anything at all. I have glaucoma and it seems to be progressing rapidly. I will find out on Tuesday how bad it has gotten. I know it's worse because lately one of my eyes is always painful and sometimes I just have to close them for a few minutes. I will wait for Tuesday before I freak out more...
